“Ali Roscoe’s research is an ‘investigation into the relationship between material thinking, tactile engagement and the creative process in fine art practice and is focusing on a group of students that Ali teaches at Wrexham School of Art. Working closely with individuals and groups is enabling Ali to develop ‘pathways’ in which the creativity and knowledge from direct experience can be utilised to become trauma informed. ”

“Researcher Emma Preece is investigating how sustainability, playfulness/joy and community engagement contribute to well-being and quality of life. Emma is conducting a practice-based study of the Public Arts Programme at Theatr Clwyd. The project was developed to be undertaken by a PhD student in residence, the project being a collaboration between Wrexham School of Art, as part of the Art+ programme, and Theatr Clwyd.”

“Researcher Tracy Simpson investigated the role of visual arts in the creation of social space and how artists, arts organisations and communities collaborate with each other (or not!). Collaboration has proliferated across the arts in recent years to the point where it has become an expectation of arts organisations, and increasingly artists, to work in partnership with others to receive public funding.”
