Our Events
The North Wales Children's University primarily signposts young people and their families, to activities and events, that take place in and around North Wales. All of the activities that we signpost to, are provided by Learning Destinations, the name we give to organisations that have joined us and who provide extracurricular and volunteering activities. They have stamp codes to give out to reward you for the time spent doing the activity, so make sure you keep checking the Children's University website, as we have new Learning Destinations joining us every week.
Occasionally we organise our own events so please like and subscribe to our social media channels to keep up to date. You can find out more by visiting our Twitter page, Facebook page, Instagram page, or our LinkedIn page. We also have an Eventbrite channel!
Some of the events we run each year, are our
Photomarathon - a time challenge, photography competition where we provide you with some words and its up to you, to take a photo that captures that word.
Youth Forums - run every few months, we gather your ideas on everything to do with the Children's University so that we can continuously improve the scheme and best of all, we buy you food and drink, normally a McDonalds!
Podcasting Workshops -learn how to become a Podcaster! We run one off events and short courses for chatty young people and teach them everything they need to know!
These events are either free, or at a small cost (the majority is subsidised by us) and for most, you do not need to be a member of the Children's University.
We have also helped to organise Criw Celf and Portffolio Art workshops for young people, funded by one of our Wrexham based learning destinations - Ty Pawb.
BUT the event we love to organise the most are, our annual GRADUATION CEREMONIES! We run these every year to reward young people for achieving 100, 200, 300 hours, all the way up to 1000 hours!
