Picture of staff member

Penodwyd Iolo Madoc-Jones yn Athro Cyfiawnder Troseddol a Chymdeithasol ym Mhrifysgol Wrecsam yn 2018. Mae Iolo yn siaradwr Cymraeg iaith gyntaf a oedd, cyn dod  i weithio yn y Brifysgol,  yn Swyddog Prawf ac yna'n Uwch Swyddog Prawf.

Mae ganddo MSc mewn Gwyddoniaeth Ymddygiadol Fforensig ac roedd ei ddoethuriaeth (a ddyfarnwyd yn 2010) yn archwilio defnydd iaith Gymraeg yn y System Cyfiawnder Troseddol yng Nghymru. Rhwng 2004 a 2016, yn ogystal â gweithio ym Mhrifysgol Wrecsam, roedd yn Arolygydd Cyswllt i  Arolygiaeth Prawf Ei Mawrhydi ac yn arolygu  darpariaeth i ddod i’r afael ag ymddygiad troseddol yn y gymuned (gwasanaethau prawf a timau trosseddwyr ifance) a charachardai.

Mae wedi cyhoeddi mewn ystod eang o gylchgronnau academaidd yn ymwnud a throsedddeg a gwaith cymdeithasol ac wedi cyflwyno ei waith mewn cynadleddau academaidd cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol. Mae wedi bod yn brif ymchwilydd ar werthusiad a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru o wasanaethau a ddarperir i oedolion digartref sy'n gadael yr ystad ddiogel yng Nghymru.

Yn ddiweddar, bu'n rhan o adolygiad o Strategaeth Camddefnyddio Sylweddau Llywodraeth Cymru a gwerthusiad o'r darpariaethau i fynd i'r afael â digartrefedd yn Neddf Cymru (Tai) 2015. Mae’n Gyfarwyddwr ‘Cyfiawnder: Y Ganolfan Ymchwil Cynhwysiant Cymdeithasol' ym Mhrifysgol Wrecsam.

Mae Iolo yn croesawu ymholiadau gan fyfyrwyr sy'n dymuno cynnal astudiaeth lefel doethur yn unrhyw un o'r meysydd hynny.
