Ymunodd Dr Ompraksh Muthusamy gyda Phrifysgol Wrecsam fel Cynorthwy-ydd Ymchwil Ôl-ddoethurol yn y Ganolfan Dechnoleg Optig, campws Llaneurgain, ym mis Mehefin 2024. Cwblhaodd ei MSc mewn Gwyddor Deunyddiau, ym Mhrifysgol Anna, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Yna ymgymerodd â PhD mewn thermoelectrigau ym Mhrifysgol Shizuoka, Siapan. 


Daliodd sawl swydd ôl-ddoethurol yn Siapan mewn sefydliadau megis Prifysgol Shizuoka, Sefydliad Technegol Toyota, a Phrifysgol Fetropolitanaidd Tokyo. Roedd ei waith ymchwil yn canolbwyntio’n bennaf ar wella perfformiad thermoelectrig o aloiau Si-Ge a deunyddiau 2D. Mae wedi cyhoeddi nifer o erthyglau, gan gynnwys cydweithrediadau gydag ymchwilwyr eraill. Gyda phrofiad eang mewn amrywiol dechnegau arbrofol, mae wedi gweithio ar dyfu crisialau, synthesis nanobowdr Si-Ge, a dyddodiad haen denau Si-Ge drwy MBE a PVD.

Yn ogystal, treuliodd Dr Omprakash Muthusamy ddwy flynedd yn ASM International, cwmni lled-ddargludyddion yn Siapan, yn arbenigo mewn Dyddodiad Haen Atomig Wedi'i Fwyhau gan Blasma (PEALD) a Dyddodiad Anwedd Cemegol Wedi’ Wella gan Blasma (PECVD) ar gyfer gorchuddiadau ocisd metal a deuelectrig. Mae ei waith ymchwil cyfredol yn canolbwyntio ar orchuddion optegol , gan gynnwys gorchuddion gwrth-adlewyrchol (AR), gorchuddion adlewyrchu uchel *HR), torwyr pelydryn, hidlwyr ‘low-pass’, a hidlwyr ‘long-pass’, ymysg eraill.
